I get jealous of DirectTv owners 5 months a year. From September to December I hate DirectTV owners. They get every NFL game in beautiful High Definition, channels where you can watch up to 8 games at once and even NFL Red Zone which I’ll get into in a bit.
Currently NFL Sunday Ticket costs owners $299.99 a year for the service. It currently remains exclusive to DirectTV, but this year something has changed. The NFL finally has decided to open up part of the feature set of Sunday Ticket to other services. Now available to Comcast subscribers is NFL Red Zone for 4.99 a month!
What Is NFL RedZone
Every touchdown scored every week in every game. You load up the channel at 10am Pacific on a Sunday and for the next 6 hours you see every single touchdown scored. If a team gets within the 20 yard line they cut over to that broadcast and show you every play until the series is over.
Are there commercials?
Not one. If nobody is in the redzone they cut to a random game that is close. Its awesome there is never a break in the action for 6 hours. The host of this program is great, he talks 100 miles an hour and is named Scott Hanson.
Downsides of NFL RedZone
You are not going to see every play of every game. If you love a team this channel will not satisfy you. I also have to admit, unless you play fantasy football you may find this channel offensive. It essentially ruins being a fan of the NFL because you end up just rooting for scores to be entertained.
Let me know what you think of it, I’m a fantasy addict so a channel like this is pretty much the mecca of my existence. Well it, my girlfriend, Apture and Call of Duty Modern Warfare..
